Christine S. Chen

Christine’s practice focuses on the U.S. and foreign patent prosecution of biotechnology and pharmaceutical patent applications. In 2014, she received an M.B.S. (Master of Bioscience) (summa cum laude) from Keck Graduate Institute (School of Applied Life Sciences) in Claremont, California, where she served as the Co-Founder and Vice President of the Intellectual Property Club. Christine also received a B.S. in Biological Sciences from University of Southern California in 2012. She also completed a Certificate of Bioscienc eIndustry Law and Practice at Southwestern Law School, Los Angeles, California, in 2012.

Christine’s professional experience includes preparing and prosecuting patent applications in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and other biotechnology industries. 

Before joining Seed IP, Christine served 5 years as a patent agent and 3 years as a technical consultant at an IP boutique law firm in Portland, Oregon, where she drafted and prosecuted patent applications over a wide range of scientific and engineering fields, including: nanotechnology, biometrics, displays and optics, semiconductors, computer networks, and machine learning. Prior to this, Christine interned at Technology Transfer division of Los Alamos National Laboratory, evaluated commercial opportunities for national security-related technologies and high-tech entrepreneurial efforts. Her research experience at USC Department of Neurosciences includes protein therapy against Alzheimer’s disease.
